Gumecindo "Gino" Rivera founded Mariachi Azteca de America on March 18, 2006. With
12 years of experience he felt it was time for a new, young and talented group to emerge. The group consist of 5 violins,
1 vihuela, 1 guitar, 1 guitarron, and 2 trumpets. Ranging from 17-29 yrs of age the groups repetoire consists of the traditional
style of Jose Alfredo Jimenez and Javier Solis,to a unique sound from original pieces from Gino Rivera. Songs such as
"Tema Azteca", "Te espero" and arrangements
such as "No Puedo Olvidarte", "At Last" and a Medley of songs from Jose Alfredo
Jimenez.
Our latest addition to our group has also contributed to the original characteristics
of Azteca de America. Ricardo Salinas(violinist & vocalist) and Gino Rivera have two NEW songs that
will be added to their first CD release. "MI FIEL COMPANERA" and "DAME
UN MINUTO"
